Speaking to the Unesco Memory of the World Programme and Canadian Heritage multiculturalism and diversity objectives, Sumnergroup has partnered with a wide range of cultural sector agencies, from universities to museums, to deliver Canadian Culture to the world via the Internet. We have created community vetted online content which strengthens our understanding of Canada, of our rich diversity, and of our founding peoples, in English, French, and 3 Native languages, Mi'qmak, Mohawk, and Kwak'wala.
As the lead executing agency, we have collaborated with a national network of clients and strategic partners in the cultural and academic sectors, to create culturally sensitive websites. Our projects, funded by ourselves, our partners, and the Federal Government of Canada, currently comprise:
* over 500,000 words of original content
* a database of over 1100 digitized images, audio, and video clips
* over 4000 records of scholarly annotated bibliographical research
* over 100,000 words of vetted educational materials that speak to provincially mandated learning outcomes, in the form of downloadable and modifiable resource kits for classroom teachers and their students, in both English and French
Our cultural anthology consists of: the Native Voices series, the Organic Architecture series, and the New Canadians series, to name a few. These websites offer youth, students and lifelong learners 24x7 access to Canadian contemporary culture and its artistic expression.
